Powin Energy to Deliver 10MWh Battery Storage System for GlidePath Power Solutions
TUALATIN, Ore. — Powin Energy Corporation, a US-based energy storage technology provider, will deliver 10 megawatts (MW)/10 megawatt hours (MWh) of energy storage system to GlidePath Power Solutions for a U.S.-distributed energy storage project to be constructed in 2019, in Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) territory. GlidePath is a portfolio company of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, a specialist investor in low carbon energy infrastructure. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
The modular, 10MWh, storage system uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries that are ideal for longer-duration applications. Powin’s Stack™ modular battery systems have been deployed for use in numerous utility-scale, commercial, industrial and microgrid applications including the largest battery storage project in Canada and the largest microgrid storage project in Mexico.
